On this Cape Town Kids page I'll be adding places to see and activities to do with children.

I will start off, by adding my favorite top 15 child-friendly activities. I know this will be difficult to keep down to only 15, but here goes (Alphabetically)!

I'm talking children that must be accompanied by an adult here (Teenagers will also enjoy many of these activities):

Adventure Activities Cape Town offers a great variety of adventure activities, from diving to flying from Cycling to surfing and lots more.

Animal Viewing With all the parks, reserves and private ventures, animal viewing opportunities in Cape Town abound.

Boulders Beach Not only will you be able to see African penguins, you'll even be able to swim WITH them.

Bugz Family Playpark Bugz Family Playpark is the largest outdoor and indoor play park in the Western Cape and is geared to entertain two to ten year olds.

Cheetah Outreach Cheetah Outreach is an education and community-based programme created to raise awareness of the plight of the cheetah.

Cool Runnings toboggan track The Cool Runnings toboggan track is made of stainless steel. A ride takes 6 minutes speeds of up to 40km/h can be reached.

Cultural Attractions Cultural attractions gives one an insight into the heritage of South Africans in general and Capetonians more specifically.

Drakenstein Lion Park All the lions brought to the Park are captive bred / hand reared and cannot be rehabilitated to the wild.

Horse Riding Cape Town have many centres offering horse riding lessons, outrides and various other activities.

Imhoff Farm So much more than animals, so after riding on camels and seeing a snake show, you can buy home-made breads and cheeses.

Jolly Roger Pirate Boat The Jolly Roger is the only authentic Pirate Ship in South Africa and sails daily from the V&A Waterfront.

Laserquest Laserquest is a popular and exciting electronic tag game, safe for boys and girls.

Miniature Blue Train The Miniature Blue Train can be found next to the sea on Beach Road, Mouille Point. The diesel operated train runs through a tunnel and under a bridge along a track of approximately 1 km.

Putt Putt Cape Town's weather gives one an opportunity to enjoy a few hours of playing putt putt quite regularly.

Planetarium Learn more about the stars, planets and constellations in the sky above Cape Town.

Planet Kids Planet Kids is a large Indoor Play and Activity Centre with an outside play area as well. Great for birthday parties and during School Holidays we organise exciting & educational programs.

Ratanga Junction Ratanga Junction is situated a mere 10 minute drive from Cape Town. Attractions include 23 rides ranging from Kids Rides to Super Thrill Rides.

Rock Climbing At City Rock Indoor Rock Climbing Centre, kids can find their feet in a programme called "test drive" where children of 6 years and older climb under the supervision of an adult for as long as they want to.

Scratch Patch Scratch Patch is a place where the floor is covered in thousands of tumbled-polished gemstones. The idea is for you to scratch around to find your favourite stone.

Stodels Nursery Bellville Stodels Nursery Bellville is more than just a nursery. Kids love it there.

Strawberry Picking The places to pick strawberries in Cape Town are all in the Stellenbosch region. You are provided a container which you have to fill with as many as you can.

Two Oceans Aquarium See fish in their natural habitat and spend some time at my favourite, the Kelp Forrest.

Tygerberg Zoo The only zoo in the Western Cape - home to lions, tigers, zebra, cheetah, chimpanzees and marmosets.

West Coast Ostrich Ranch An experienced tour guide will explain the origin and reasons for ostrich farming and interesting facts about the largest bird in the world.

World of Birds The largest bird park in Africa with more than 3000 birds and other smaller animals - see cranes, owls, swans, kites, gulls and many more.

Cape Point Ostrich Farm Well trained guides will be more than happy to show you around and give you detailed information about the life cycle of an ostrich, from egg to the adult bird.

Stellenbosch Toy & Miniature Museum The Stellenbosch Toy and Miniature Museum houses a collection of 1:12 scale miniatures, room boxes, miniature houses, antique dolls, cars, cuddly toys and an extremely detailed and lifelike miniature of South Africa's famous Blue train.

The Ice Station Skating Rink The Ice Station is Cape Town's only ice rink and features an Olympic-sized skating rink as well as a mini ice rink for smaller children.

Dye-Hard Paintball Dye-Hard Paintball specialises in hosting paintball games. Games can be organised for adult or kiddies birthday parties, bachelors' parties or for colleagues wanting to get rid of some stress or just a bunch of friends wanting to play and have fun.

Le Bonheur Crocodile Farm Guided tours lead you across open dams via ramp ways. Visitors have an opportunity to touch and hold a baby croc, and during summer months, you will have the opportunity to witness the feeding of the bigger crocs.
