According to the Scotch Whisky Association, South Africa is the fifth largest Scotch market by volume in the world. The profile of the whisky drinker is changing to include more women and younger adults.

In order to appeal to this ever changing and dynamic market, exciting innovations designed to take both whisky connoisseurs and novices alike on an unforgettable journey through the allure, origins, flavours and history of whisky will be on show this year.

During the festival whisky lovers will be able to attend various tastings and workshops.

Cost: From R100 for Adults and R50 for scholars. Free entrance for pre-school children.

Die Varing Musiekfees is ’n gesinsfees en daar word moeite gedoen om die fees bekostigbaar te hou vir die gesin.
Om dit aanloklik vir gesinne te hou, word niemand toegelaat om alkoholiese drank by die hekke in te bring nie, en daar word geen alkohol verkoop nie.

Bo-en-behalwe 'n pretpark met ’n groot verskeidenheid speletjies en stalletjies waar die hele gesin kan rondsnuffel en koop, is daar verskeie kosstalletjies waar daar na hartelus gesmul kan word!

The MTN Varing Musiekfees, is a festival celebrating Afrikaans music.

Bonnievale Bonanza

Bonnievale Bonanza is a festival held annually during the first weekend of November. Cyclists, walkers, runners and fellow guests to come and enjoy the beauty and joy of festivities in the country side.

Activities include a fun cycle race, a potjiekos competition, bike and quad open day, stalls and much more.

Franschhoek Open Gardens

Ten spectacular gardens on show – from small to medium-sized gardens in the village to farm gardens, indigenous gardens, 'out of town' gardens and the gardens of Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate.

This is a unique opportunity to enjoy walking around the gardens surrounding the historic 18th century Manor House and Owner’s Cottage not normally open to the public.

Franschhoek Open Gardens Festival, Cape Town

Agriworks Farmers Expo

Where: Van der Stel Sport Grounds, Stellenbosch

The AgriWorks Farmers Expo offer an interesting programme for all visitors, from farmers and farm workers to wine and gardening enthusiasts.

The farm workers programmes, presented on Thursday and Friday mornings will include workshops on personal finance, life skills, anger management and basic first aid. The programme ends off with an informative and entertaining reptile show that will help workers to identify the dangers in the orchard, vineyard and field.

For the farmer there are topical discussions about the economical prospects and forecasts, weather patterns, land reform issues and rural safety.

The Cape Wine Academy will offer four themed and technical wine tastings which give you the opportunity to taste top local and international wines. These tastings include a Chile to Chablis tasting, a Tri-Nations tasting, a Hess Family Terroir tasting and a French champagne tasting.

Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts are a fantastic way to spend a Sunday sunset in Cape Town.
The open-air amphitheatre concerts cater for all music tastes, from jazz, folk, rock to big band Swing and are a delightful way to enjoy the surroundings and unwind. Part of the charm lies in the warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere, with music-lovers picnicking on the soft grass banks that slope downward towards the stage.

The concerts take place every Sunday beginning in November and ending the following April.
