Warwick Estate is a family-owned and run boutique winery. Warwick was purchased in 1964 by Stan Ratcliffe and his new bride Norma.
They soon began planting Cabernet Sauvignon. Norma became more and more interested in the making of wine and began to study the subject.
Soon a cellar was in place and in 1984 the first "legal" Warwick vintage was released (a Cabernet Sauvignon).
Norma had the talent for making great wines and production soon increased. In 1986 Warwick Trilogy was released, a Bordeaux style blend which has since became one of the flagships of the South African Wine Industry.
Warwick prides itself in offering personal one on one interaction with their wine advisors, where you can sample Professor Black, The Black Lady, the notorious Three Cape Ladies and the iconic Trilogy, a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot.
The more romantically inclined can sample out of the Wedding Cup whilst being told the fairytale of the King’s daughter and her silversmith lover.
At Warwick the Gourmet Picnic menu was designed to provide a balance between the freshest seasoned ingredients and a flavour that will satisfy the most sophisticated guest.
