The Butterflies are most active on a sunny day. (It is also very humid then - so take something to drink) On overcast days however, you can see (and photograph) the resting butterflies up close.
The gift shop has butterfly related items for sale and the Jungle Leaf Café provides light meals and refreshments
The outdoor garden hosts a meerkat enclosure and free range ducks, chickens and goats, waiting to be fed. Seeds and fodder can be bought at the gift shop.
The Martin Filmer Spider Room displays indigenous and exotic spiders and scorpions. There is also an iguana cage showing them off in a tropical environment.
Location: Take Exit 47 off the N1 (north) and turn right on Route 44. The entrance is 300m from turning, on your left.
Please don't disturb the butterflies when they are eating
Editorial Comment:
Butterfly World is one of my favourite places to relax and enjoy beauty. I've even been there once without taking my children.
Dit is nou regtig 'n plek waar ek lekker rustig kan wees. Waar anders sien jy so baie skoenlappers bymekaar? Dit laat my sommer lus raak om 'n skoenlapper versamelaar te raak! Gaan sit op een van die bankies en kyk net.
