Butterfly World
Butterfly World is a tropical garden in a 1000 square meter green house where exotic butterflies can fly freely.Up to 800 butterfly pupae are imported per week all year round. They come from countries such as Costa Rica, Philippines, Malaysia and China. The Butterflies are most active on a sunny day. (It is also very humid then - so take something to drink) On overcast days however, you can see (and photograph) the resting butterflies up close. The outdoor garden hosts a large aviary, a meerkat enclosure and free range ducks, chickens and goats, waiting to be fed. Seeds and fodder can be bought at the gift shop. The Martin Filmer Spider Room displays indigenous and exotic spiders and scorpions. There is also an iguana cage showing them off in a tropical environment.
