Swellendam Canola Carnaval

Experience the Overberg at its most beautiful - the time of year when canola fields cover the hills with patches of yellow flowers.

Come and enjoy the outdoors and nature of Swellendam by taking part in the MTB, marathon, fun run, golfing, 4x4 or quadbiking.

Other activities includes an old car show, entertainment by local musicians and others, exhibitions, arts and crafts market, bus tours to the canola factory, and much more.


Robertson Slow

Wineries and Guesthouses from Ashton, Bonnievale, McGregor and Robertson will welcome visitors into their homes, to their dining tables and onto their farms for a food & wine experience - enjoyed SLOWLY. Guests can look forward to dinners at the homes of our winemaking families, cooking traditional Robertson Country Fare such as Waterblommetjie Bredie, 7-course Organic Meal, Braai Snoek and Karoo Venison.

As always wine will be central to the weekend and you will have ample opportunity to meet with our winemakers to taste and discuss their wines. The weekend will also include some great options where you can learn to make honey, try your hand at making pasta or learn how to blend your own wine.

Other activities will include Horse Riding, Boating and Fynbos and Renosterveld Walks as well as Nordic Hiking.


Women's Day Swim

The Women's Day Swim forms part of the Cadiz Swim Series -- a succession of cold sea swims that take place around the Cape Peninsula, leading up to the Cadiz Freedom Swim in 2012. All funds raised from Women's Day Swim will go to the women of the Western Cape Cerebral Palsy Association.

Relay teams comprising four swimmers, with at least one woman, will take to the cold Atlantic at Camps Bay on Tuesday 9 August.

Registration is at 09h00 and the the race starts at 10h00.

Blisters for Bread Charity Walk

This event raises much-needed funds to feed hungry school children throughout the Western Cape.

Your entry fee will take you along a scenic five, ten or twenty kilometre route.

Walkers from all over the Cape, and beyond, are invited to register for the event in advance at www.enteronline.co.za or at selected Spur Steak Ranches and Virgin Active outlets in the Western Cape.


Nando's Comedy Festival

The Comedy Festival innovates, engages and entertains the Mother City and incorporates a number of unique features and with six separate programmes, everyone's tastes should be catered for.

As usual the festival features the "international show-case" Main Arena programme in the Baxter Concert Hall, while a special edition Danger Zone runs concurrently at the Baxter Theatre.

A host of the world’s top street performers will once again amaze and amuse Capetonians of all ages at the V&A Waterfront.

The Best of the Fest is showcased on Sunday evenings and allows patrons the chance to see a cross-section of the most popular acts from across the festival spectrum, every Sunday for the festival’s duration.
