Sandy Bay

Sandy Bay, a secluded and rather beautiful spot, is Cape Towns only nudist beach and is popular with the gay community.

It is one of Cape Town's most inacessible beaches. The only way to get to there is via a 20 minute walk from the car park or to clamber over rocks from the southern end of Llandudno. Wooded walkways have been built in some places to protect the vegetation and make things easier for visitors.

The beach area comprises a number of beaches inter-spaced with massive granite boulders.

What to do

Tan
Tan and bathe completely naked (the water is freezing so bathing is not that popular)

Gay cruising
This is a popular area for cruising

Top Tip 1
The car park is rather small and parking is always a problem - the only solution is getting there early or having to walk a little further.

Top Tip 2
As this is a secluded beach,it's a good idea to go at peak times and in groups.

Top Tip 3
There are no shops and no public toilets.

Top Tip 4
Don't be a pervert - go partake or stay away!!
