Rust en Vrede Estate

Rust en Vrede Restaurant

Rust en Vrede Restaurant

Rust en Vrede Estate specializes in producing only red wine with the focus on Shiraz, Cabernet and Merlot.

It has produced the first South African red wine in the Top 100 Wines of the World. This honour was repeated for four consecutive years.

Cellar

The underground cellar of the estate was the first of its kind for a privately owned South African winery.
It was designed by renowned architect Mr Gawie Fagan.

Wines

  • 1694 Classification - Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz blend

  • Syrah - 100% Syrah

  • Estate - Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz blend

  • Shiraz - 100% Shiraz

  • Cabernet Sauvignon - 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

  • Merlot - 100% Merlot

Restaurant

The food, made of only the freshest ingredients, are complimented by wines from the estate.

The original cellar, a National Monument, has been converted and the kitchen is placed "front and centre", thus creating an ambiance that is both relaxed but vibrant.

Well known potter, David Walters, created the crockery. Handcrafted Riedel stemware was selected and Laguiole knives purchased to give you an experience to remember.
