Kamersvol Geskenke is a celebration of ideas and creativity. We put a lot of effort into finding beautiful original, local, handmade products AND of course new talent!
I think people nowadays come to the event not only for the lovely shopping experience and atmosphere, but also to get tips on new trends.
2010 will be the 8th Kamers and each year it just grows into something more spectacular. The four of us that organize Kamers are not only colleagues, but also good friends.
We extend this friendship to the suppliers and I think that shows. We love telling the stories behind the products and the people that created them, through the event.
Kamersvol also strives to inspire people to tap into their own creativity and in that sense; it is a force that empowers women.
One of the things that I love most about Kamers is that you can see how much everyone enjoys it. There is the group of friends from Beaufort West that fills a whole mini bus and joins us for the day. Daughters bring their mothers AND grandmothers. Men walk around with babies on their arms, to allow mom some My-time. Children run around with toffee apples and pop guns!
What a celebration of friendship and love..
One spot in Cape Town where you relax.
The Cederberg mountains. I’ve been going there since I was five. Sitting next to a mountain river, listening to its gentle sounds, the soft greens of the fynbos, the shadows on the mountains as the sun sets, all contributing to a thoroughly relaxing experience.
On the lawns at the Blue Peter Hotel in Blouberg - after a long sunset walk on the beach.
If you had one day to show a friend from overseas something in Cape Town, where will you take him and why?
The Winelands for its serene, fresh beauty, Robben Island for its huge role in our recent history, Table Mountain for the views, and Chapmans Peak drive for being so spectacular - ending up in Kalk Bay - either at Harbour Cafe or the Naked Chef at Outspan Restaurant.
Kalk Bay
