The Iziko Planetarium
The Planetarium is housed in the South African Museum in Cape Town. Inside the auditorium, the night sky is recreated. So whatever the weather outside, the "sky" inside is always clear.
The complex Minolta star machine and multiple projectors are used to transport the audience through the wonders of the universe. The ultimate in armchair travel. If you are already a serious stargazer, you can download a high resolution image of "The sky tonight". This image is changed regularly as time progresses and shows which stars, constellations and planets can be viewed from Cape Town.
