Nederburg Concert Series

Fans of classical music can once again look forward to the annual Nederburg Concert Series. Top local and international classical musicians performe at the Nederburg Manor House.

The concert series also features a popular picnic concert, which marks the end of the season in November.

The Gansbaai family festival celebrates the origin of Gansbaai and features live music, a procession on Saturday morning, boat trips to Dyer Island, a 4x4 adventure trip up Franskraal mountain, a golf competition and several food and craft stalls.

One of the highlights of this festival is the winter fynbos wildflower show.


Berg River Canoe Marathon

The 4 day Berg River Canoe Marathon event covers a distance of over 250km from Paarl in the Cape Winelands to Velddrif on the West Coast. In true Cape Town fashion, cellar tours and wine-making courses are on offer to all participants and spectators.

Bastille Festival

Locals and visitors will be celebrating the Valley’s centuries-old French Huguenot heritage at its annual Bastille Festival.

The Food and Wine Marquee affords visitors the opportunity to sample fine wines and indulge in mouth-watering dishes.

Sample a wide selection of cuisine, ranging from: oysters, sushi, local and French cheeses to charcuterie, hand-made chocolates and salmon trout from the area.

A farmers’ market, craft market stalls, musicians and children’s activities are also included in the line up of festival celebrations.

For those wanting to appreciate French heritage in comfort, the Screening Room at Le Quartier Français will be screening French movies throughout the weekend.


Breedekloof Soetes & Soup

When: Friday 22 July and Saturday 23 July

This fun-filled event combats the chills by serving you cups of steaming hot homemade country soup accompanied by a glass of our multiple award-winning soetes (dessert wines).

Visitors buy a Breedekloof Soetes & Soup enamel mug and coupon booklet at their first winery and use it to enjoy complimentary cups of homemade country soup and discounts on red and fortified wines at each of the participating wineries.

Activities will include live musical performances by a variety of well known local artists.
